There are three types of estimates; conceptual, preliminary and final estimate.The type of estimate is determined by the amount of information available about the project.

For a Conceptual Estimate the following is required:

A sketch of the floor plan(s)
A site plan with the building and site improvement required such as roads and parking
Rough sketches of elevations of the building
Building height
Plumbing needs
Heating and air conditioning needs
Any special electrical lighting or power needs
Any special equipment, fixtures, or furnishings

If all the above information above is completed satisfactorily, Prost Builders can do a Conceptual Estimate free of charge.

For a Preliminary Estimate, preliminary drawings prepared by a design professional such as an architect or engineer are required showing all aspects of the site and building work in a preliminary (Design Development) manner.

For a Final Estimate, complete plans and specifications for the project are required by a design professional.

If this is a Design-Build project by Prost Builders, we can prepare a Guaranteed Maximum Cost Estimate you can take to your financing source for funding based on only preliminary drawings. Prost Builders is able to do this knowing what our designers will include in the final set of drawings and specifications.
