On March 29th, 2005 Prost Builders received the Old Town Cape Preservation of Heritage Award from Old Town Cape, Inc. for our "vision and dedication to the Marquette Tower Project." The Marquette Tower project, built in 1928, consisted of historic restoration and adaptive reuse of 55,000 square feet.
This beautiful addition has added so much to the original building. The 20,000 square foot addition includes a sanctuary, offices and gathering lobby. The large, arch windows provide a huge amount of light from the back and front of the building.
This facility is the home of Everlast Fitness Manufacturing. The preengineered metal building encompasses almost eight acres under one roof (302,000 sq. ft.). This designbuild project took only one year. Our client added several improvements to the project and were still able to come in under budget.
This 30,000 square foot historic building built in 1898 was renovated into class "A" office space. The adaptive reuse and renovation took much care to restore the ornamental sheet metal work and masonry exterior. Walnut shells were used to blast clean the huge interior wood columns and beams used to support the floors.
Prost Builders, in a joint venture with Fru-Con Corporation, recently completed a $20,000,000 addition to the University of Missouri-Columbia power plant. This attractive brick and stone exterior building houses two 12.7 Megawatt electric generators with space to add another 12.7 Megawatt electric generator which would double the University's power production capacity.
Prost became involved in this project before the design was completed to provide Guaranteed Maximum Pricing and Value Engineering suggestions. This early involvement allowed Prost to guarantee that there would be no change orders other than scope of work changes initiated by the owner, Jefferson City Housing Authority.
